Player of the Year Ranking System  

R1)    The player ranking system shall apply to all registered league players, in all divisions

R2)    Player of the Year. All players will be awarded points for frames or matches won in the league and selected competitions up to and including the last league match of the season.

          League Matches 3 points per frame. Staffordshire Arms KO, and  Teams KO 1 point per frame.  Marshall Cup and Proctor Cup 1 point per match won.  

R3)    Ranking tables will be issued on a monthly basis indicating the top 10 ranked players in each division. Full details of all player rankings will be available on the league web site. 

R4)    The top 6 ranked players from each division at the conclusion of the season,  (ie after the conclusion of the last league match of the season) shall go forward to compete in the divisional player of the year play off competition.

In the event of a tie on points between players the player with the highest number of points accrued in league matches shall go forward. In the event of a further tie the player with the highest number of individual competition points shall go forward. 

R5)    Players who qualify but do not attend the play off or notify the Competition Secretary or designated officer that they will not be doing so, at least 48 hours before the due date, will not be entered in to the following season’s competition.

 

          Competition 

R6)    The competition shall be played on a ‘Round Robin’ basis. 

R7)    All matches shall be 1 frame duration   

R8)    All players shall compete off their current league handicap as at the end of the season. 

R9)    Each frame won shall be worth 2 points. If there is a tie, the player with the highest accumulated aggregate over the 5 frames, will be awarded 1 point. 

R9)    The 6 divisional winners will then play a Round Robin competition to decide the overall player of the year. (the same points system to be used).
